The Council of Higher Institutions (COHI) is an organ of Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit. Its utmost goal is the unification of all Muslim students on various campuses across Lagos State. Our core values are academic excellence, students’ welfare, moral rectitude, and spiritual uplift. For over two decades of existence, COHI have been at the forefront of bringing together Muslims in various campuses, maintaining the core values of Islam without compromise despite the overwhelming influence of divergent civilization on students.
The society, Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, is the meeting point for all Muslim Students in all Higher Institutions, Secondary Schools in most part (if not all), graduate and Post Graduates as well as Muslims who attend technical institution, like the craftsmen and women in Nigeria. Frankly speaking, this society has one of the largest spread of society in (religious or otherwise) in the whole of Nigeria. The major objective is that it may be the forum for making every Muslim youth that is privileged to attend any school in the country, secondary or tertiary, to be conscious about Islam and being its ambassadors.

Council of Higher Institution (COHI) is an organ of MSSN LSAU which is charge with the responsibility of coordinating the activities of all tertiary institutions across the state. The organ has over 23 affiliate institutions, universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education, Colleges of Medicines and colleges of health technology. We are concerned with student development, welfarism and means of strengthening the bond of brotherhood among members; we therefore provide frequent platforms to achieve the aims and objectives through various programmes and activites. The programmes are campus interactive, capacity binding course, student career fans, Higher Institution Convention of Muslims Student and to mention but a few which of all the programmes. The administration focuses on the inclusiveness and rejuvenation which is aimed at working together with everyone in actualizing the goal of the organ and also bringing back the organ into limelight. With couple of achievement and testimony overtime from our world class members, having helped them in actualizing their goals, potentials and expanding their network.
